What is PF / EPF Return Filing?
PF, also known as Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), is a retirement savings scheme governed by the Employees’ Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. Both the employer and employee contribute monthly to the EPF, and these contributions are managed by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
Apart from savings, the contributions also cover Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) and Employee Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI).
PF return filing means submitting the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) through the EPFO portal. This filing reports employee wages, employer and employee contributions, and remits the due amounts.
Mandatory Compliance
Every GST-registered business must file applicable GST returns within the prescribed due dates.
Different Types of Returns
Businesses may need to file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, or other returns based on their registration type and turnover.
Input Tax Credit (ITC)
Accurate return filing helps businesses claim eligible ITC and reduces overall tax liability.
Nil Return Requirement
Even if there are no business transactions during a tax period, eligible taxpayers must file a Nil GST Return to remain compliant.
